This Privacy Policy describes how Matheasy ("Matheasy", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Matheasy mobile application and related services (the "Service"). By using Matheasy, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and responsibly, in line with applicable data protection laws including the GDPR and CCPA where relevant.

Information we collect

We collect information to provide and improve the Service. The types of information we collect are described below.

Account information

When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and authentication details. If you sign in with a third-party provider (for example, Apple or Google), we receive basic profile information permitted by that provider.

Usage data

We collect information about how you interact with Matheasy, such as the problems you scan, topics you study, features you use, session duration, and in-app activity. This helps us improve solutions, personalize learning, and measure performance.

Device information

We may collect device-related information including device model, operating system version, app version, language settings, unique device identifiers, and crash or diagnostic logs.

Camera permissions

Matheasy requests access to your device camera so you can scan math problems. Camera access is used solely to capture the images you choose to scan. We do not access your camera in the background, and we do not store camera images longer than needed to generate a solution unless you explicitly save them. You can revoke camera permission at any time in your device settings.

AI processing & math analysis

When you scan or enter a problem, the image or text is processed to recognize the math and generate step-by-step solutions, explanations, and tutoring responses. This processing may occur on secure cloud infrastructure and with trusted AI service providers. We use this data to deliver and improve accuracy, and we do not use your scanned content to identify you personally.

How we use information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including scanning and solving math problems.
• Personalize your learning experience and improve solution accuracy.
• Process subscriptions, payments, and manage your account.
• Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
• Monitor performance, diagnose issues, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Communicate important updates, security notices, and service changes.

Data storage & security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. Data may be stored on servers operated by trusted providers located in various regions.

While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we continuously review and improve our safeguards.

Third-party services

We work with trusted third-party providers to operate Matheasy. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies and appropriate data-processing agreements.

Firebase services

We use Google Firebase for authentication, cloud storage, real-time database, crash reporting, and app performance monitoring. Firebase may process account identifiers, device data, and usage events. Learn more in Google's privacy policy.

RevenueCat subscription services

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and purchases. RevenueCat processes subscription status, purchase receipts, and anonymized identifiers to validate entitlements and restore purchases across your devices. Payment card details are handled by the App Store or Google Play and are never stored by Matheasy.

Analytics

We use analytics tools to understand how the Service is used, measure feature engagement, and improve the product. Analytics data is aggregated and used to make Matheasy better; it is not used to sell your personal information.

Children's privacy

Matheasy is designed to help students of all ages learn mathematics. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) without verifiable parental consent.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information without consent, please contact us at support@getmatheasy.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Data retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, tax and transaction records).

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you within the app or by email. Your continued use of Matheasy after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
